Quick Facts About Co-op

​- Co-op is an academic high school credit course that requires students to complete an in-class portion, along with a work placement.
- Co-op is an option for grade 10 students if they are 16 by March 1st, and all grade 11 & 12 students.
- Students may benefit from Co-op by: career exploration, it looks great on a resume, smoother transitions from school to post secondary to work, increases self confidence, improve employability skills, employment experience/network
- Students complete approximately one month in the classroom, preparing a resume, coverletter, completing First Aid, WHMIS and OHS, as well as  career planning, and learning about workplace etiquette, safety, and confidentiality
- Students are marked on their resume, coverletter, career planning, their journals/reflections, their portfolio, their placement experience, etc.
- Students may obtain more than one Co-op credit (maximum is 5)
- The entire in-class component need not be repeated for returning Co-op students

- To apply, complete an application and provide the necessary references. Please discuss it with your parents.
- Only 40 students are accepted into the Co-op Program

 - You must complete an interview. I will also be reviewing your attendance, marks, and behavioural records.
